Murray
Bruce Macdonald (Hornsby Heights, N.S.W. AUSTRALIA) Bestowed with the Rank of Knight of the Order of Wisdom and Learning for: .....approaching 30 years service in volunteer positions in the fields of Education & Sports. Murray Macdonald has given of himself over many, many years in taking up various volunteer positions with many organisations including: More than 25 years service with a Parents & Citizens Association where he served as President for 16 years and was a driving force behind a push to have a new school hall built, a dream finally met when in 2004 he was able to attend the official opening ceremony of a new school hall. Murray in his time was also involved in the establishment of 2 covered outdoor areas 2 new play equipment areas and aided in the establishment and equipping of a 12 bay computer Lab. Whilst all this was underway, Murray still found time to organise fundraisers to help finance dreams as well as being involved in the complete refurbishment of the school oval including a cricket pitch, a memorial paving area and the construction of gardens and retaining walls. As well as the previous , In the same time period as all the above, Murray could also be seen with the Hornsby Heights Sports Club (since 1992) where he coached junior soccer for many years and then involved himself with the Cricket team where he ended up where he remains today, President of the Club where under his watch the club has grown to be one of the largest clubs in the association. If that were not enough, for the last 7+ years Murray has been active with a new project that he has found himself, a new project that grew out of a visit to play cricket in Sri Lanka. He was so moved by what he saw and knew that there were many ways he could get help for the Sri Lankan kids in the sporting area that he now raises support from his many associations to provide sports equipment and many other items needed by Sri Lankan youth. This has led to the funding of now 3 tours of Sri Lankan junior Netball teams to come to Hornsby Heights and partake in the hospitality of the local people as well as play a Netball International Tournament with local teams involved. This is an arrangement that remains in place today, most recently establishing a sister school relationship between a Sri Lankan school and two schools local to Hornsby Heights. In 2017 Murray was awarded Life Membership of the Hornsby District Cricket Club.
In 2018 Murray Macdonald was
the recipient of the first ever

John Mulhall (North Ryde. N.S.W. AUSTRALIA) Bestowed with the Rank of Knight Commander of the Order of Wisdom and Learning for: .........his ongoing support and education in and of the numismatic field (coins & medals) for more than 25 years. Whilst so doing, John has also been a great supporter of the PHR and always shows particular interest in the currency issues of this nation. John is well known to many of us in the PHR, particularly those who collect coins and banknotes as he has been involved with Australasia's largest and most respected numismatic magazine the Australasian Coin & Banknote Magazine which Prince Leonard still maintains a yearly subscription to as a collector himself. John's knowledge in his field is great and his ability as editor of the Australasian Coin & Banknote Magazine certainly helps increase his ever growing knowledge as he shares the information with us all.

Christopher R, Smith (Port Kennedy, WESTERN AUSTRALIA) Bestowed with the Rank of Knight Commander in the Illustrious Order of Merit for: Outstanding service provided to his community and humanity in general. There is far too much surrounding the worth and value of Christopher to his community that we do not know where to start or finish documenting it here, instead we have to cut it down to the following: Forced to retire from the Western Australian Police Force having been declared unfit and unemployable following a major attack upon him whilst carrying out his duty, an attack that resulted in him stopping breathing twice on the operating table, Christopher refused to sit or "lay down". Christopher launched himself into community service as a volunteer whilst at the same time studying to become a State Justice of the Peace where he rose to a senior role. He also volunteered for the local Citizens Advice Bureau rising to become a supervisor whilst still a volunteer in that organization. Christopher is also working with a women's refuge where he has been involved for more than 15 years (11 years as vice-president). Christopher still remains deeply dedicated to looking after his own wellbeing by continuing to improve his mental and physical health. His work in the Police Force has not been forgotten, he still somehow found the time to assist a group of medically retired WA Police Officers which became the RMUWAPA (Retired Medically Unfit WA Police Association), for a time Christopher was the President of this inaugural group for nearly 4 years. All this from a person who survived a life-taking beating, ceased to breathe and had to be resuscitated twice and was then declared to be unemployable. This is what the
Sovereign looks out for in every pile of nominations that are received for
consideration in these Honours, not enough of them seem to exist but there
are "the few".
