Cyclo-Sportif Byford 2010 Bringing home
Gold for the Principality of Hutt River Principality of Hutt River announce National Road Cycling team and First Win! The Principality of Hutt River is proud to announce the creation of their National Road Cycling Team the Royal Hutt River Silvertails and its first win at Byford Cyclo Sportif with the best time in the B division over a 64 km distance. Created around the core of one of Perth’s most well known yet elusive cycling bunch, The Royal Hutt River Silvertails will fly the Principality flag at various Cyclo Sportif events. The Principality also plans on holding National Cycling Championships in both Road and Mountain Bike categories. An approach to Cycling's governing body the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is being contemplated to seek official sanction as a National Association. The winning team boasted a collection of colourful identifies including Andrew Mcmillan of Patterson’s Securities (the Lion of Ventoux), Technology guru "Dapper" Dave Hutson, , David Lock, CEO of Craig Mostyn, criminal barrister Belinda Lonsdale, petrophysicist Hank Koelemij, Jamie Ogilvie former ASIC WA Chief and now lawyer with McKenzie Moncrieff, celebrity yachtsmen Skip Lissiman OAM and Peter Mudford, and property developer Gary Garside. The attached photo features Belinda Lonsdale and Skip Lissiman leading the RHR Silvertails to victory. His Royal Highness Prince Leonard congratulated the Royal Hutt River Silvertails on their first win as the Principality's representatives, he wishes them well as they strive to bring honour in cycling to the Principality - "bringing home Gold and promoting good sportsmanship !". The Principality of Hutt River is situated 595 km north of Perth, Western Australia and is about 75 square km in area, consisting of some 18,500 acres of land. Hutt River is an Independent Sovereign State having seceded from Australia on the Twenty First Day of April 1970 and is of comparable size to Hong Kong (not the New Territories). HRH Prince Leonard is a keen supporter of sports with the Principality being represented in a myriad of sporting events and teams around the world. TEAM COMPRISED:
