Issue 68 - 47th Anniversary of Secession

Commemorating the: Abdication of HRH Prince Leonard &
Enthronement of HRH Prince Graeme that was effected 11th February 2017

The Philatelic Department of the Hutt River Postal Service is pleased to announce the issue of it's
set of 3 x "47th Anniversary of Secession" Postage Stamps on 21 April 2017.

HRH Prince Leonard decided it was time to step down as Sovereign of the PHR due to his age (91 at the time) and his deteriorating health.

On February 11^th 2017 a ceremony was held in Princess Shirley’s Chapel of Nain, to publicly mark the occasion of the Abdication of the Throne:
Abdication by; HRH Prince Leonard after 47 years of service to the nation and the Enthronement of his youngest son
Enthronement of; HRH Prince Graeme as Sovereign of the Principality of Hutt River.

What better way to mark the end of the 47^th year of the secession of the Principality of Hutt River from the Commonwealth of Australia and the beginning of the 48^th year than to commemorate those ceremonies and the start of the first year of the reign of the new Sovereign—HRH Prince Graeme.


The three stamps of this issue feature:
HRH Prince Richard introducing HRH Prince Leonard to those present ($1.00),
HRH Prince Leonard congratulating HRH Prince Graeme upon his taking the Throne ($1.10),
Members of the Casley Royal Family celebrating the occasion ($1.95).
 

Printed in a mini-sheetlet of 3 se-tenant sets with a labelled selvedge all around, top & bottom labelled.
