The Royal Hutt River Defence Forces
 

The Royal Hutt River Defence Force (RHRDF) as it is known today, is governed by virtue of the Royal Hutt River Defence Force Act of 1988.

The RHRDF Mission is to:
 "Symbolise and uphold the Sovereignty of the Principality of Hutt River".

Whilst a non-combative, the RHRDF is charged with ensuring the security of the Principality and performing the usual logistical functions associated with the military forces when and if ever required. Primarily however, the branches of the RHRDF have a ceremonial role and in addition, all branches of the RHRDF actively liaise with the Principality's Diplomatic Community in providing charitable support wherever most needed.

HRH Prince Leonard is proud to see the RHRDF commemorated by the issue of this set of stamps, the first in the history of the Royal Hutt River Postal Service to recognise and feature the RHRDF.
